Inside Of A Game Gear Cartridge

I found an old Sega Game Gear and a bunch of games in Ari’s attic which doesn’t work. It will take some soldering and hardcore shit to get it going again but that didn’t stop me picking up this from Hobby Gamer, Sonic 1. This Sonic 1 isnt the same Sonic 1 on the Mega Drive / Genesis, it has new levels to fit the smaller screen better.

Being curious, I thought to open it up. It has the same small security screw that Game Boy games have PLUS it has some internal clips which you need to work open with a spudger or your nail.

However once inside… I think this looks really cool. I like how the chip is in the middle and the traces are almost even on both sides.

I don’t know much about Sega games and their serial numbers and revisions but I do know I was 11 when this was made.
